About Me

Hello, I’m Elodie De-Souza, founder of DAP and lead practitioner at Empowerment Counselling, Coaching and Consultation Services.

With over 10 years of clinical counselling experience and 20+ years supporting children, young people, adults, and families especially those from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds. I provide compassionate counselling, coaching and consultation services. I work with individuals and professionals, helping them navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, workplace stress, leadership development, and team wellbeing.

My Story

I come from a rich multicultural heritage French, Nigerian, Beninese, Portuguese, and Brazilian and have lived in the UK for over 40 years. Growing up as the middle child of 13 siblings and moving frequently during childhood gave me a deep understanding of relationship dynamics, identity, and resilience. These personal experiences shape how I hold space for clients navigating emotional struggles, change, and complex relational dynamics.

My Approach

I use an integrative, client-centred approach, combining psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person-centred, and solution-focused therapies to create a tailored plan that suits your unique needs.

Empathy, warmth, and genuineness are central to my practice. I create a safe, non-judgmental environment where you feel heard and understood from your perspective fostering self-awareness, emotional growth, and positive change.

My approach is trauma-informed and culturally sensitive, honouring your background, values, and life context as we work together towards healing, resilience, and empowerment.

Psychodynamic, Attachment-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(CBT), Person-Centred Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.
